About This Tour

The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park is more than an average theme park — it's a cornerstone of Colorado's history and one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in the American West. The iconic suspension bridge stretches 1,260 feet across the gorge, suspended 955 feet above the raging Arkansas River below. Construction began in 1929, but the gorge itself is millions of years in the making.

About 3 million years ago, a trickle of water began slowly carving a canyon from solid granite bedrock. Little by little, that trickle became the raging Arkansas River — and that canyon became the Royal Gorge. Approximately 10 miles long and surrounded by red granite walls towering over 1,000 feet, early American explorers called it the 'Grand Canyon of the Arkansas.' Even the Royal Gorge fire of 2013 couldn't stop the adventure — the park has fully recovered and is better than ever.

Inside the park you'll find thrilling rides, stunning overlooks, an aerial gondola, a mountain coaster, a zip line, a carousel, and endless photo opportunities. Whether you visit with a jeep tour package or on a standalone admission ticket, the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park delivers an unforgettable Colorado experience for visitors of every age.
