Royal Gorge Route Railroad ~ Ales on Rails, April 7th
Ales on Rails is a huge hit, featuring a four-course beer-loving foodie excursion through the Royal Gorge. Once you’re settled in on your beautifully-renovated club car, you’ll be presented hearty mini entrées made by Chef Jeff Gaylor, paired with a signature Colorado beer flight. Like almost everything else served on the train, the beers and the appetizers are local. The ticket price of $84 for Ales on Rails is all inclusive. If you’re a wine lover, you can upgrade to a wine flight for an additional $20. The RGRR bistro-style menu and full bar will also be available throughout the ride! *Special discounts do not apply. A Four-Course Menu Pairing with San Luis Valley Brewing
Southwest Salmon Nachos
Crisp flour tortilla chips topped with flaked salmon, jalapeno lobster cream sauce, fresh diced tomatoes and a dollop of sour cream. Paired with San Luis Valley Caliente, Green Chile Lager- 4.2% ABV – a light, crisp, Mexican style lager soaked on Hatch Chile for a pleasant nose and flavor.
Deviled egg
Served on a nest of intense micro greens and drizzled with our mixed berry balsamic glaze. Paired with San Luis Valley Grande River IPA – 6.7% ABV – a plentifully hopped, bold but smooth India Pale Ale.
Blackened Teriyaki Chicken
Teriyaki-marinated Colorado Red Bird chicken breast, dredged in Cajun spice and seared to perfection, Served over our Colorado quinoa-rice blend, and finished with a sweet pineapple teriyaki sauce. Paired with San Luis Valley Alamosa Amber– 5.5% ABV – a classic Colorado red ale with a balanced malt to hop profile, and a beautiful crimson color.
Turkey Club Sliders
Thin-sliced hickory smoked turkey breast, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and onions on a mini brioche bun with garlic and basil pestoli. Paired with San Luis Valley Ol’ 169 Oatmeal Stout – 6.0% ABV – a dark and complex beer with great roasted malt character and rich, creamy body.
